I can’t believe we are in the second month of 2018 already, even though January was the longest yet most chaotic ever. I was hoping to get some blog post images taken throughout the month but with university interviews, portfolio building, mock exams, coursework deadlines, poor weather and work being manic as always I just never found the time. It’s now the 5th of February and I’m bed ridden, full of cold and wishing I was in Bora Bora. Besides all that, being ill it has meant I have been able to catch up on some of my favourite TV which I have neglected over the month and also my blog.
Topshop has always been one of my all time favourite high-street brands but of course I am a student so to be able to afford half of the items out there I would need to take out a separate loan. However there is a reason I carry out so much overtime in the holidays, so that maybe I can treat myself to a piece or two. ‘Millennial Pink’ seems to be the colour of ‘now’ with it in every shop window and display; not that I am complaining of course, pink is awesome and very flattering. Collating my favourite ‘Millennial Pink’ trends was certainly exciting, there’s everything from track pants, corduroy jackets, kitten heel boots and faux fur. It was screaming my name.
These loafers have definitely got some Gucci vibes going on. I love the Gucci Loafers but not having a couple hundred to spare, the originals are definitely out of my price range. The Topshop Leather Key Trim Loafers are to die for and retail at £46, a much more affordable price. These would be perfectly paired with jeans and a blouse in the warmer months to come. And as for these boots, wow. I love a stiletto heel as much as the next girl but these Topshop Hazzard Ankle Boots are heavenly. However these bad boys will set you back a mere £89 which will not be good for the bank balance. These are well out of my budget but we can always dream ay?
If full on pink is not your thing, the ‘Austin’ Cropped Sweatshirt By Tee and Cake at Topshop is a subtle way of allowing ‘Millennial Pink’ to make an appearance in your SS18 wardrobe. However paired with these adorable Corduroy High Waisted Peg Trousers the trend is back in full swing. The sweatshirt retails at £28 whilst the trousers at £45. Continuing with the corduroy theme, I’ve fallen in love with this oversized jacket and mini skirt combo. The MOTO Cord Oversized Jacket and the MOTO Buckle Cord Skirt will set you back over £80 combined but makes an iconic statement piece in your wardrobe. Although not stereotypically ‘Millennial Pink’, this raspberry tone is one of my favourite from this collection.
Faux fur and flowy satin. A match made in heaven if you ask me. This combination is perfect for a night out. The Camilla Luxe Faux Fur Jacket, retails at £79 which isn’t overly extortionate for a Topshop jacket however will certainly set you back a bit. Whereas the Satin Scallop Camisole Top is a very reasonable £16, definitely a purchase I will be making soon; plus it comes in a range of different colours.
Nothing beats a warm and cosy roll neck at this time of year especially one that is so en trend, bursting with pink and red. I’m so on board with this whole red and pink ‘thing’ that’s goin’ on but as of yet, been too afraid to ‘attempt’ pulling it off, maybe this will be my year. This Colour Block Roll Neck Jumper retails at £42 but definitely worth every single penny. Side stripes have definitely been the most popular trend this year, mainly inspired by the sports brand Adidas. This style has been incorporated in suits, jackets and many more typically ‘smart’ attire which I LOVE, my favourite piece being the Sugar Pink Track Trousers which retail at £30.
What’s your favourite piece from this collection?
