London Fashion Week has been and gone and I am still obsessing over my favourite street style looks from the week. The array of colours shown throughout the week was incredible and I loved the diversity that every fashion week brings. Cords are in at the moment and I am totally loving this red and hot pink combination. High-waisted flared trousers are my go-to at the moment they can be styled up with boots/heels or dressed down with a pair of trainers of slip on pumps. Red has also been a very popular and on trend colour this season which I am loving but yet to venture into. I love the simplicity of the red polo neck knit top as it can be worn with some many other components.     The trench coat is a classic jacket which will never go out of fashion. It is so versatile and… View Post

Yet again it’s hunting season and we all know what that means, the return of the Crème Egg. Last year they had a pop up café in SoHo but this year they have travelled all around the country in this years Crème Egg Lodge (a cooler version of a tour bus), which contained a treasure hunt filled with riddles and clues to find the golden egg. We arrived at Waterloo right next to the London Eye at around 12 o’clock. We grabbed a bite to eat at one of the restaurants in the area before joining the queue at the lodge. It turned out getting there half an hour early was a blessing as we were the first to enter the lodge as part of todays adventures. This made a huge change to last year where we queued around an hour and a half just for a toastie… After queuing,… View Post

I’m back with another photography post because yes, I have been on another trip to London with my photography buddies, Hannah and Jess. It’s been a year since I last went up to the Tate, so I was really excited to look around for ideas so I could start building up portfolio. For my AS photography exam I am studying the structure of society, fashion and human body; so I am going to be shooting people in different locations in their everyday life, exploring different fashion and culture. All of the photos here were taken by me and I will now be sharing them on my own photography account on Instagram, @alexrookeblog.

For those of you who follow me on various social media platforms you would know that I was up in London the other weekend competing at Starpower Talent. Starpower is a worldwide competition that tours around the world looking for the best dancers, dancer groups, singers, actors and models. I arrived at the University of London, Logan hall at 12.30 but didn’t go on the stage until 2. I was placed into the Fashion Modelling category where I performed on stage in front of 4 judges and a rather large audience in 6 inch heels (that was the easy bit) to my favourite song by the 1975, Girls. For the past few months I had been working with my Coaches, Karen and Scarlett Corps from KCA Performing Arts and Emily Parker (former student and model). During my routine I performed a catwalk modelling piece where I walked down the stage,… View Post

Summer is just around the corner and I am loving all the clothes that are coming in stock. I picked up these distressed Mom jeans for £18 from Boohoo the other week and I am in love with them. They are really easy to wear and style as they can be worn down with a oversized jumper or up, with a bodysuit. Both the bodysuit and the oversized jumper were bought in Zara in London. This oversized jumper is super comfy and I seem to wear it all the time at the moment. This jumper says ‘NOT THE NORM’ on it in iridescent font; a quirky touch that I didn’t originally notice. Bodysuits are something I have become increasingly fond of. I just want them all. This is my favourite one yet as it is has a gorgeous open back made from a ribbed material making it easier to not wear a bra. The… View Post
